Persistent retrograde venous-lymphatic reflux in side-to-end lymphaticovenous anastomosis in a lower extremity with lymphedema: a case report

چکیده
End-to-end (ETE) and side-to-end (STE) anastomosis are two common configurations of lymphaticovenous (LVA); however, it remains inconclusive which method is better. A 62-year-old man with lower extremity lymphedema underwent LVA the STE on ankle. When lymphatic vessel was cut for additional at proximal leg, blood drained out from end a vessel, suggested venous-lymphatic reflux Because continued until 1 hour after previous ankle, ankle re-explored converted to ETE by ligation vessel. Reverse corrected, lymphovenous shunt created immediately ligation. The current case suggests that can be inferior creating when venous backflow exists.

Lymphaticovenous Anastomosis Releases the Lower Extremity Lymphedema-associated Pain
BACKGROUND We investigate the effectiveness of lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA) in releasing lymphedema-associated pain. METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis. Subjects of this study included lower extremity lymphedema patients who presented persistent and constant degrees of pain in their lower limbs. LVA was performed under local anesthesia. The preoperative lower extremity pain a...

Abstract Background : Although, different studies on end-to-side nerve repair, results are controversial. The importance of this method in case is unavailability of proximal nerve. In this method, donor nerves also remain intact and without injury. In compare to other classic procedures, end-to-side repair is not much time consuming and needs less dissection. Overall, the previous studies i...

متن کاملLymphedema of the Lower Extremities due to Refractory Malignant Lymphoma Treated by Lymphaticovenous Anastomosis
Lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA) is primarily performed for lymphedema of the lower extremities after surgical treatment of gynecologic cancer and lymphedema of the upper extremities after surgical resection of breast cancer; however, LVA for lymphedema due to malignant lymphoma has not been reported to date. We herein present a patient with severe lymphedema of the lower extremities due to r...
